AntNook is committed to elevating the global standard of ant-keeping. We have dedicated extensive resources to precision-engineering our 3D habitats and ethically sourcing our colonies. To ensure optimal delivery across North America and Europe, we operate advanced fulfillment hubs in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. Utilizing premium Air Express shipping, we aim to minimize transit times and maximize the safety of your order.

Security & Settlement Policies

The integrity of our platform is paramount. In response to a global increase in fraudulent e-commerce activities and chargeback abuse, AntNook has implemented uncompromising security protocols. All transactions and potential compensations are processed exclusively via Alternative Secure Gateways and Encrypted Private Invoicing. This ensures rigorous compliance and protects our community from malicious actors. Consequently, automated direct financial refunds to credit cards are not supported under any circumstances.

1. Hardware Protection

Resolution Protocol: Should your 3D-printed hardware sustain critical structural damage during international transit, you may elect to receive either a Free Replacement unit OR a Store Credit for the item's valuation.
Deductibles: All hardware compensations are subject to the deduction of non-recoverable costs, including original international shipping fees, specialized packaging materials, and base manufacturing overheads.
Manufacturing Characteristics: Minor surface artifacts, layer lines, or slight textural variations are inherent to the FDM/SLA 3D printing process. These are cosmetic hallmarks of custom manufacturing and do not constitute a defect.
Evidentiary Requirement: Clear, unaltered photographic evidence of both the damaged product and the compromised shipping carton must be submitted within 24 hours of the carrier’s delivery timestamp.

2. Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) Coverage

Due to the complex biological nature of our subjects and varying international agricultural laws, our Live Arrival Guarantee is strictly segmented.

Tier 1: Guaranteed Delivery Zones

We provide a comprehensive Live Arrival Guarantee for orders shipped to: Canada, The European Union (EU), Australia, and New Zealand.

Option A: Replacement

A one-time replacement colony dispatched at no additional cost. (Final resolution; no secondary LAG applies).

Option B: 120% Credit

A digital store credit valued at 120% of the biological subject's price. Non-transferable; valid for 12 months.

Tier 2: Global Standard Fulfillment

For all other territories, we execute delivery using our most advanced protective packaging. However, we do not offer a Live Arrival Guarantee for these regions due to uncontrollable local logistics and import restrictions. Orders to these regions are placed entirely at the buyer's own risk.

3. LAG Claim Conditions & Voidance

To maintain fairness in Tier 1 regions, claims must adhere to strict temporal and evidentiary standards based on the carrier's official delivery timestamp.

Moderate Temp: 14°C to 29°C (57°F - 84°F) Unboxing video must be submitted within 2.5 hours of delivery.

Extreme Temp: 5-13°C OR 30-32°C Unboxing video must be submitted within 1.5 hours of delivery.

Strict Void Conditions

Out of Bounds Temperatures: The LAG is voided entirely if the local temperature at the time of delivery exceeds 32°C (89.6°F) or drops below 5°C (41°F).
Queen Survival & Fertility: The LAG strictly covers the live arrival of the Queen. We hold no liability for future fertility, brood development, or behavioral issues post-arrival. The loss of a small number of workers (up to 20%) during transit is standard biological attrition and is not covered.
Biological Variation: Starter colonies frequently consist of smaller "nanitic" workers. Claims asserting incorrect species based solely on early worker size are invalid.
Acclimation Stress & Husbandry: AntNook is not liable if the colony perishes shortly after arrival due to forceful formicarium transfer, extreme light exposure, or introduction to pathogens/mites not clearly visible in the initial unboxing video.
Unattended Packages: The guarantee is immediately voided if the package is left unattended in a mailbox, parcel locker, or porch beyond the designated time limits.

Mandatory Video Evidence: All claims require a continuous, unedited video of the package being opened. Photographic evidence alone is insufficient and will result in automatic denial. Due to file size limits, please send the video or a secure downloadable link (e.g., Google Drive, WeTransfer, or an Unlisted YouTube link) to support@antnook.net within the designated time window.

4. Legal, Customs & Logistics Liability

Order Cancellations & Fees: Orders may only be cancelled prior to dispatch. Third-party payment gateway fees are strictly non-refundable. Approved cancellations will reflect the exact net amount received by AntNook. Post-dispatch cancellations are prohibited.
Transit Estimates: All stated shipping times are estimates. We accept no financial liability for transit delays caused by customs processing, severe weather, or carrier logistical failures.
Theft & Missing Packages: AntNook's liability concludes once the carrier's tracking explicitly indicates "Delivered." We do not compensate for packages stolen from the delivery location (Porch Piracy).
Address Accuracy & Refusal: AntNook is not liable for delayed, returned, or DOA packages resulting from incorrect/incomplete addresses provided by the buyer, or if the delivery is refused.
Customs Confiscation: The buyer assumes total responsibility for compliance with local agricultural and import laws. If a package is inspected, delayed, confiscated, or destroyed by Customs or Agricultural authorities (e.g., USDA), AntNook assumes zero liability and will not issue replacements or credit.
Finality of Sale: Due to the sensitive nature of live biological subjects and custom manufacturing, all completed sales are final. We do not accommodate returns or exchanges for "buyer's remorse."
Fraudulent Activity: The packing process for every order is rigorously documented and video-recorded. Fraudulent chargeback attempts will be aggressively contested with financial institutions using our evidence, resulting in a permanent ban from our network.
