TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

1. TERMS OF SERVICE & AGE REQUIREMENT

By accessing antnook.net or placing an order with AntNook, you agree to these Terms and any policies incorporated by reference. By placing an order, you confirm that you are legally permitted to enter into a purchase contract in your place of residence.

AntNook does not knowingly accept purchases from minors who are not legally permitted to enter into a purchase contract without the involvement or consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless otherwise stated, the website content, original product descriptions, photographs, branding, and proprietary AntNook formicarium designs are owned by or licensed to AntNook and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may not reproduce, commercially exploit, distribute, or copy proprietary AntNook designs without permission, except where such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.

3. BIOLOGICAL DISCLAIMER & SAFE KEEPING

AntNook carefully checks and prepares live colonies before dispatch. However, live ants are biological organisms, and future fertility, egg-laying, brood development, colony growth, behavior, and long-term survival cannot be guaranteed after successful live arrival.

The buyer is responsible for providing appropriate housing, temperature, humidity, food, water, escape prevention, and species-appropriate care after delivery.

The buyer is also responsible for handling live insects safely and for preventing accidental escape, injury, or misuse after delivery.

4. PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & FRAUD PREVENTION

Accepted payment methods are those displayed at checkout or confirmed on an AntNook invoice. Payment processing may be provided by Shopify, PayPal, or other third-party payment providers.

Orders may be cancelled before dispatch where cancellation is still reasonably possible. Any applicable refund or deduction will be handled in accordance with our Refund Policy, the relevant payment provider's rules, and applicable law.

AntNook may maintain order, packing, shipping, tracking, communication, and claim records for fraud prevention and dispute resolution. Fraudulent, intentionally misleading, or unsupported claims may be declined or contested with the relevant payment provider using the available evidence.

5. LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE

Eligible live-ant orders are subject to AntNook's current Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG). The LAG sets out applicable temperature conditions, claim deadlines, mandatory continuous unboxing-video requirements, queen-based DOA compensation rules, exclusions, and other claim requirements.

The Live Arrival Guarantee applicable to an order is the policy in effect at the time of purchase, together with any order-specific terms confirmed in writing before dispatch.

6. CUSTOMS, IMPORT REQUIREMENTS & INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

International buyers are responsible for understanding and complying with import restrictions, permits, agricultural regulations, and other requirements applicable to their destination.

Customs inspections, government actions, confiscation, destruction, rejection, or significant customs delays are outside AntNook's direct control and are handled according to our applicable shipping, refund, and Live Arrival Guarantee policies.

7. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

If a dispute arises, please contact support@antnook.net first so that both parties can attempt to resolve the matter in good faith.

Any unresolved dispute will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any legally valid dispute-resolution procedure agreed by the parties or required by law.

8. LIMITATION OF TERMS & APPLICABLE LAW

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any mandatory consumer right or legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
