Carebara diversa (Jerdon, 1851), formerly known as Pheidologeton diversus, is the classic Asian Marauder Ant. It belongs to the subfamily Myrmicinae and is famous for converging on an army-ant-like style of mass foraging despite not being a true army ant.
The species is widespread across the Indomalayan region and is also a genuine part of the Chinese ant fauna.
